Around the time that my first son was born, my own mother accomplished her own weight loss success story when she lost over 50 pounds after joining an innovative women's "gym" called Curves.
I joined Curves as well and was pleased when my body quickly began to change. I loved the convenience of working out only 30 minutes a day and I could run in and out on my way to or from work.
Once I became pregnant with my third son, however, the little women's gym that I had loved was not so convenient anymore. Five months after having child number three, I decided it was time to set up some kind of home workout area.
Luckily I found some workout videos that intelligently combined strength training into a cardio workout. Working my muscles quickly gave me an edge on my weight loss endeavors. Building muscle allowed me to burn more calories throughout the day, even when I wasn't working out. My body became tight and toned through the muscle training. As well, the way the workout videos were designed, every time I worked out my muscles my heart rate would go up, too, for a great cardiovascular workout at the same time, doubling my efforts and giving me the most bang for my buck! What I mean is, although I was only spending 30 minutes a day working out - that 30 minutes was the most effective, efficient workout I could do in order to see and experinece results quickly, which encouraged me to continue with my workouts. |
