Today I started the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start plan. This 10 day weight loss plan came with some Turbo Jam videos I bought a while back but I have never tried the 10-Day Kick Start plan, which boasts, “In just 10 days, you can lose up to 10 pounds and 10 inches.” Sounds good to me, I just got back from a ski vacation in the Rocky Mountains with 5 extra pounds and a sore tailbone!
So I did some searching online to find out if anyone had ever had success with the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start but I didn’t find much so I thought I’d give you at least one mom’s review! And, please chime in if you are familiar with it.
Prior to starting the plan I shopped ahead for the first five days worth of food and incorporated the dinners into my family’s weekly meal plan, which I plan in advance anyway in order to make afternoons and evenings go as smoothly as possible, reducing the temptation to swing through a drive-through after one of the kids’ many weekly after school activities! The time I spent preparing and shopping ahead definitely paid off today. In addition to the food preparation I also posted each day’s meals on the fridge so that I would know exactly what to eat and when, taking any guess work out of the meals and snacks – making it sort of a “weight loss for dummies” of sorts; for me, the less thinking I have to do the better! Also, with the plan right there on my fridge I knew that each meal’s ingredients were right there in the fridge because I had prepared and shopped for them the day before!
This first day was pretty tough, especially as I approached my trouble zones – the afternoon and evening. The thing about a strict eating plan is that it exposes and magnifies your eating vulnerabilities and makes your favorite “no-no foods” that much more appealing because you can’t have them! It didn’t matter that I was doing Turbo Slim because the afternoons and evenings are difficult times of the day for me everyday ANYWAY. Breakfast and lunch are usually pretty easy for me but as the afternoon rolls around I begin to look forward to whatever treat I am planning on having in the evening (usually in the form of some high calorie, insulin-busting or sodium loaded snack) and then once the evening arrives I start the snack attack and vow to do better the next day! It’s a sad, sad, cycle…..so today, on day one, I faced the afternoon disappointment of having nothing to look forward to except my low calorie dinner….and….I…mourned…yep, I took a minute to mourn my loss and then I MOVED ON!
I hope to stick with the 10 day plan step by step and see where it gets me. I will post a bit more information about the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start plan itself as well as an update once I’m half through and a final review of my thoughts and experience with the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start plan once I have finished the 10 days.
I would love to hear your experience with the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start plan, did you like it? Did you experience any weight loss? Do you have any advice for following it? It is great to hear from other moms, we can encourage each other and help each other experience weight loss success – hopefully the Turbo Slim 10-Day Kick Start will help with that, too!
